 My first stallion, Mountain View's Seminole, was the 2005 Three-year old Stallion under saddle. It was my first time having a horse shown under saddle at the RMHA International. After winning his championship we brought him home had fun trail riding him. 
My gelding, McGuire's Blue Maverick, did very well for his first shows in February. On February 4 & 5, 2003 he showed in two RMHA class A shows in Ocala, Florida. The first day he won Florida Amateur Owned and Trained and got second in the Florida Resident Championship. The second day he won the Ladies Amateur Owned and Trained, and Florida Amateur Owned and Trained. He also placed second in the Florida Resident Championship and fourth in the Grand Championship. Then it was on to the Florida State Fair and two more RMHA Class A shows on February 7 & 8, 2003. There he won Florida Amateur Owned and Trained and got second in the Florida Resident Championship on the first day. On the second day he won the Open Amateur Owned and Trained (it was raining too much to go in for the Ladies class), Florida Amateur Owned and Trained, Florida Resident Championship, and Amateur Owned and Trained Championship. He also won reserve Grand Champion beating several top stallions. He also placed third on the first day of the fair in the western pleasure class. He was ridden in that class by my friend, Dan Word. The first time Dan ever rode Maverick was that day on the way to the warm-up ring. Not bad for a little trail horse in his first shows. |
